Do You Follow The Nordstrom Approach To Success?

The decision that made Nordstrom a household name and the gold standard for customer service didn’t get presented in an extraordinary way. Nordstrom simply asked their employees to get a little bit better every day.
It was a strategic approach and message from John Nordstrom one of the three brothers who took over the operations of Nordstrom department stores in the late 1960s. He knew that change was more likely to occur in incremental steps not giant leaps. As John would tell you, “Everyone believes they can get a little bit better,” but they doubt their ability to deliver huge results.
Human tendency favors small changes and resists big leaps – even if the outcome and level of success is the same.
Nordstrom’s approach gave them a share of the market they’ve never given back. Their loyal customers and reputation for customer service says it all.
Nordstrom isn’t the only company that benefits from a straight-forward, little-by-little approach. You and your business benefit too. The results you want are within reach if you commit to getting a little better every day. Develop that habit and you’ll be successful.
Jack Canfield, author of a number of best-selling books including Chicken Soup for the Soul and The Success Principles, (one of my tried and true resources) would say you need to practice the Rule of 5 to move your business forward. I agree. Identifying five specific things that move you toward your goal helps you develop a strategy you can sustain to move your business forward.
Here’s the thing, agreeing to practice the Rule of 5 can be easier than determining the five things you should be doing, which is why I’ve designed a free program to help. I call it the 6 Days to Ultimate Business Success Challenge and for six days in December I’ll help you outline strategic plan for 2019 and identify your next steps using Canfield’s The Success Principles as the starting point.
Building a successful and sustainable business requires a strategic approach and the commitment to getting a little better every day. It also doesn’t hurt to have accountability and support from other female entrepreneurs. Sign up today today and join me beginning December 3rd and you’ll discover how to make 2019 your best year evah!
