Truth Telling From The Trenches with Nancy Juetten

Together with my Certified Financial Planner Professional Husband Steve Juetten, we guide married women and the people who love them to organize their crucial personal financial information so they can take their place in the driver seat, even after a bump in the road.
Where is your business located?
Bellevue, WA
Where did the idea for your business come from?
Friends and family members started sharing stories of how life turned on a dime and turned their lives upside down. It occurred to me that this could happen to me, too. On January 11, 2018, we decided to do something about it. We have since created an awesome system designed to put women in the driver seat of their financial lives, even after a bump in the road. We just sold out our first pilot program and feel very excited about the road ahead as we raise our voices and make big impact to advance this empowerment revolution.
What is the first thing you do in the morning?
The first thing I do in the morning is brush my teeth.
What does your work day look like and how do you maximize your productivity?
I plan my work priorities for the next day before I finish the day at hand. Having recently worked with a professional organizer to streamline my digital inbox, I keep my focus on activities that drive revenue and serve clients.
How do you bring your great business ideas to the world to serve your clients?
I am a big fan of BeLive.TV as a way to show up fully in service to those I most want to serve. Telling stories about real people who have woken up to the reality and value of getting their personal finances organized is a high priority at this early point in our growth.
What is one trend in business that excites you?
The market to serve Baby Boomers is rich with opportunities to serve in powerful ways. We believe our 'experience product' holds great promise to serve this audience far better than the 'shelf help' that has been the standard up until now.
What is one strategy that helped you grow your business?
Steve and I both nurture and tend to our respective opt in subscriber lists so we can earn a place of TRUST among those who follow our work. Because this new endeavor reaches a NEW niche audience that we have not served up until this point, we decided to share the news of our new endeavor with our existing subscribers in the form of a joint special announcement. We were rewarded by an enthusiastic reception that came in the form of new opt in subscribers for the NEW gift we created to serve the new niche audience as well as 'thank you notes' for stepping into this important new way to serve that so many said is urgently needed. Best of all, when we announced our first road test to put our Life Goes On Virtual Road Trip through its paces, we sold it out within just a few days. We often hear how important it is to nurture and grow a list of fans, followers, advocates and champions by creating a list of people who trust your work. Based on this most recent experience, I would say that nurturing a list is a stellar strategy for growing an existing business or in creating a successful pivot to serve in a new and powerful way.
What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?
Technology has been a challenge for me over the years in a variety of ways. Sometimes, Instant Teleseminar goes out at the moment when 1000 or more people are waiting to hear a teleseminar. Sometimes, the shopping cart goes into maintenance at the very moment when sales are supposed to be rolling in. It is disappointing when this happens, and the only answer I have is to "Fall down seven, get up eight." You have to believe in what you are doing so much that you get up to fight another day. And I do. And it has paid off over time.
What is one business idea you’re willing to give away to this community?
Think about a BIG IDEA you can bring to market that meets an urgent need for which your ideal client will gladly invest money to get the benefit or the relief. And find something remarkable about THE WAY you deliver that big impact so that clients are happy to sing your praises and be trumpets for the BIG IMPACT they welcome because of it. So often, business owners struggle with a BIG IDEA and simply revert to offering something that someone else has done successfully so they can do it, too. BIG IDEAS come to us in their own good time. My advice is take an 'arms wide open' approach. You can't force a rose to bloom or the wine to come to its perfect bouquet. It happens in its own good time.
What is the best $100 you have recently spent? on What? Why?
I spent a bit more than $100, but I am super happy to have invested with a professional organizer to get my digital inbox streamlined, organized, and under control. Already, I have saved hours of time because I can find what I need when I need it without wasting time trying to remember where I stored it in the first place. That is game changing.
What is one piece of software or app that helps you be productive? How do you use it?
Time Trade makes it fast and convenient to set appointments with clients, potential clients, and others.
What is the best business book you have read? Why?
The Success Principles: How to Get from Where you Are to Where you Want to Be by America's #1 Success Coach Jack Canfield is my favorite business book of all time. I've invested tens of thousands of dollars in professional development over the years. The $20 I paid for this book is among the best investments in my professional development of all of them. That book has been at my bedside table since January of 2005. It's always a good read. When you work the success principles, the principles work.
What is your favorite quote?
"Surround yourself only with those who lift you higher." Oprah Winfrey
Who inspires you in business and why?
What inspires me in business the most is using my creativity and authenticity to serve in a powerful way that makes a big impact, while bringing rewards and results to all involved.
What are your thoughts on work-life balance?
"Balance is for ballerinas." Entrepreneurial Guru for Women Ali Brown I agree. It's always a 'bend and sway' to get the most accomplished in life and work, and it is never easy.
Henry Ford said, "Either you think you can or you think you can't. Either way, you are right." Lesson #1: Tend to your mindset, and keep thoughts and hand gestures positive along the road of life to welcome the best results. Lesson #2: Want your result enough to do what it takes to make it so. Only the top six percent of business owners reach the six-figure or more revenue mark. Decide to be a top six percent-er, and do what it takes. Lesson #3: Have courage and be kind.
What is your workspace like?
My office is painted a beautiful teal color that sets a calm and optimistic tone. There is a window that brings in lots of natural light and the beauty and colors from nature into the room. My U-Shaped desk has everything I need within arms reach so I can work my magic and feel good in the space.
Last thing you do at the end of your work day?
The last thing I do at the end of my work day is make a list of what I intend to accomplish the next day. When I head to bed, I made a list of what I accomplished that day so I can fall asleep with a recent success on my mind.
I can't leave home without my wits about me.
What superpower would you love to have to use for good?
I'd love to have the power and influence to compel Baby Boomer married women to get off the Procrastination Roundabout so they can take their place in the driver seat of their financial lives and always have the power and control to keep on driving, even after facing a bump in the road.
