Friday's Featured Entrepreneur - Stacey Romberg Attorney At Law

Describe yourself. As a former college tennis player, I practiced for hours to be at my best, which turned out to be perfect preparation for the rigors required to engage in the
practice of law! I love running a law firm and working with terrific clients on
business issues, estate planning and probate. It’s rewarding to help my clients,
and to team up with them to analyze issues, resolve problems and accomplish
results. When I’m not running a business or practicing law, I like writing articles,
public speaking, and serving kids as a Board member for Tennis Outreach
Programs (“TOPs”).
Describe your business. Our law firm represents clients in areas of estate planning, business law and probate.
What are the stunning results clients/customers get when they hire and work with you? No attorney can truthfully promise stunning results. The results often depend on the surrounding circumstances and the law. What we can promise is to be responsive, caring, thorough, and provide you with honest assessments. We take much pride in work, and strive each day to serve our clients well.
What’s the biggest challenge you ever faced in your business and how did you resolve it?
Our law firm is virtual, meaning that we all work from home on an on-going basis. We were among the first Seattle law firms to adopt this model, which results in cost-savings for our clients due to the lower overhead. But along the way, many challenges arose because the model is so new! I solved these challenges by much trial and error, and by aggressively adopting new technologies.
What’s the one question you wish clients would ask you but they never do? How can we best work with you efficiently so as to reduce our attorneys’ fees? Clients often assume they are being efficient, when in actuality they are not. For example, sometimes clients think they are saving money by creating documents themselves for us to review, when in reality it would take us less time to create that document from scratch.
Best time saving business tool you use? Our firm utilizes case management software, which allows us to save client information, correspondence, phone records, e-mail, research, and documents in a paperless “digital file” format, available to everyone in our office at all times.
Case management software eliminates environmentally unfriendly paper files, and maximizes efficiency and collaboration within our firm.
Current book you are reading? The Talent Code – Daniel Coyle
What book do you recommend the most to other entrepreneurs? The Slight Edge – Jeff Olson.
What is the best piece of business advice you’ve ever received and who gave it to you? The best way to market your practice is to take great care of your clients. Irene Leonard.
